Corporate Intranet

2007 - 2011

During my time at BDI, I built and maintained a large corporate intranet that managed over 7,000 clients and 500 employees (as of Nov 2011). The system was built from scratch on a custom PHP framework that was heavily modified over the years to handle the changes in requirements. The system started as a pure PHP / HTML system, but incorporated XSL in 2008 when I began to use that heavily. The system allows both employees and clients to log on to view their status, post support tickets, view notes and many other features.

The MySQL database for this system spans over a hundred tables and contains several gigabyes worth of data (mostly tied up in weekly ranking reports for the SEO clients). It was custom built for the needs of the system and frequently enhanced as new projects arose.

In addition to the core admin system, a few satellite administration systems were made for small projects, all of which were built on Kohana. I chose Kohana for these projects due to the robust ORM that Kohana has built into the core, and the lax needs for complex menus, blocks or permissions that normally would drive me to choose Drupal instead.

Unfortunately, since the system is a corporate intranet, it cannot be linked externally and cannot be shown on my portfolio.
